Australian Defense Minister: Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles has said that China’s radical attitude in the South China Sea is similar to that of the Line of Control (LoC) India. Marles said China should show commitment to resolving border disputes through a negotiated process in accordance with international law. It is a matter of concern for any country to try to resolve its border dispute with its neighbors by force.
During a conversation with the Australian High Commissioner, Marles said, “We have never seen the way China is building around us. This has been done over the last decade. Over the years, China’s attitude has developed a sense of bigotry.” “

He said that two years ago, China’s treatment of Indian troops in the South China Sea and along the Line of Control was extremely bad. “We stand firmly behind India’s sovereignty,” Marles said of the Galvan Valley incident. “We feel the same way in the South China Sea,” he said.
Marles said a number of things have come to light regarding claims to have built and occupied artificial islands in the South China Sea. He further added that China has been consistently violating established basic rules, which are crucial for the South China Sea and the LAC.
Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles will pay a four-day visit to India on Monday. After arriving in India, the Australian Defense Minister held a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh on Wednesday. At the meeting, the two countries reviewed the regional security situation and expressed their views on their shared goals of an open, free and rule-based Indo-Pacific region.
