Cooking Tips: Paneer Biryani tastes amazing, learn its easy recipe


Paneer Biryani Recipe: People’s mouths water at the mention of biryani. If you are a vegetarian, you stay away from non-veg biryani. At the same time, whenever you feel like eating biryani, you will be eating only vegetable biryani. If you want to taste something different, you can try Paneer Biryani. Let’s know its simple recipe-

History of Biryani

The word Biryani is derived from the original Zoroastrian language, which was the official language of the courts of Mughal, Afghan and Turkic rulers who migrated from Central Asia to various parts of India during the Middle Ages. There is also a hypothesis that it originates from the Persian word ‘to bring’, which is used for rice.

Paneer Biryani Recipe

Ingredients to make Paneer Biryani:

  • Paneer – 1/2 kg
  • Rice – One bowl cooked
  • Cumin – 1/2 tsp
  • Big cardamom – 2
  • Chhoti Elechli – 3
  • Cinnamon – one piece
  • Onion – cut into 3 slices
  • Tomato paste – one cup
  • Oil – 4 tbsp
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/3 tsp
  • Garlic ginger paste – 1 tsp
  • Curd – half a cup
  • Green chillies – 2 chopped
  • Chop green coriander finely
  • Mint leaves – 7 to 8 leaves
  • Salt – as per taste

  • First soak the rice for 15 to 20 minutes
  • After 20 minutes, when the water is hot, add the soaked rice and cook till 75%.
  • When the rice is more than half cooked, drain the rice with water.
  • After this, cut the paneer, then after turning on the heat, add 3 tbsp of oil to the pan and fry the paneer until it turns brown.
  • After this, peel the onion, wash it well and cut it into pieces.
  • After that make tomato paste and keep it.
  • Now heat oil in a pan.
  • When the oil is hot, add cumin, big cardamom, small cardamom, cinnamon.
  • After that add finely chopped onion and saute until golden. Now add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 seconds.
  • After 2 seconds add curd and cook for 1 minute, now add coriander powder, red chillies, turmeric and mix well.
  • After that add tomato paste and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Now add a cup of water and cook the spices well for 2 minutes.
  • Then add rice to it and cook it well.
  • Turn off the heat when the rice is cooked.
